Our
service alleviates the stress and anxiety of recruiting. We vet
and select suitable candidates, leaving you to concentrate on the
ones you really wish to interview.
Wimbledon
Nannies is
bound by the strict code of conduct of the Recruitment and
Employment Confederation, which ensures that all procedures in the
selection and checking of candidates are of the highest possible
standard. Click
here to read the code of conduct. All applicants are
personally interviewed, their identity established, and their own
requirements discussed in detail to make sure we put the right
applicants forward for a given position, thereby ensuring a more
suitable match between applicant and potential employer. For
details of the recruitment process please scroll down or click
here.
We
offer a number of different types of childcare:
Nannies
The
main concern of a Nanny is the safety and well being of the
children in her care, although the duties of a Nanny are numerous:
educational stimulation in reading, writing and number work;
providing a creative atmosphere in which children develop into
sociable and independent individuals; the organisation and
supervision of the children's social activities; the production of
a nutritious diet and responsibility for the children's rooms and
their laundry.
Nannies
always have a professional qualification or at least two years
successful experience of working as a nanny. In the case of
Nannies without formal qualifications we make rigorous checks on
their experience before registering them. For more information on
qualifications, click here
Working
hours vary depending on requirements, although a daily Nanny
should not be expected to work more than a ten hour day and a
residential Nanny not more than eleven hours. Baby-sitting,
weekend work and any additional housework (however minimal) must
be discussed at the interview and agreed prior to the commencement
of employment as this is often the cause of misunderstanding.

Mother's Help
A
Mother's Help is there to assist a mother in her own home as
a general help - a third arm! In addition to childcare, they would
be expected to help around the home, doing light housework, family
washing and ironing and helping to prepare family meals,
washing-up etc. She should not be expected to perform all the
household chores.

Suggested
Interview questions
We
match your particular needs with the requirements of each nanny on
our books and then email, fax or post the details to you. You will
receive a CV, an applicant profile and details of all checks we
have carried out; verified references will be sent once a client
is interested in meeting an applicant for the second time, and we
encourage all applicants to bring their written references along
to any interview. We check all references in writing or, if that
is not possible, verbally; we encourage prospective employers to
double-check references for themselves, for their own peace of
mind.
Once
you have indicated the wish to interview potential candidates we
ask you if we can give your telephone number to candidates (we
only give out your number to the person once you have given your
permission) so that they may telephone you directly, or you may
prefer to telephone the candidate yourself first. We encourage
this initial direct telephone contact but if you want us to set up
interviews for you we will, of course, do so.
We
review each interview with you, feed back the applicants views to
you and offer advice as to suitability. If none of the candidates
you interview are right for you then details of further suitable
candidates are proposed until you have made your final
choice.

Prior
to the commencement of employment,
we will provide the client with a contract (the standard 'Nanny
Contract', as recommended by REC - the Recruitment and Employment
Confederation, of which we are a member). We recommend that a
contract be completed between the employer and the prospective
Nanny.
